Rob qualified at Manchester in 1986. He has been at Portner Pittack Dental Practice since 1988. His patients enjoy excellent service and high standards of dentistry. Whilst enthusiastic about his work, Rob is both gentle and calm. He is excellent in overcoming patient fears allowing treatment of children up to nervous adults requiring extensive implant, cosmetic and restorative treatments. Also enjoying working with a skilled team of specialists on complex multi-disciplinary cases.

He has a special interest in placing and restoring implants, with over twenty years' experience in the field. Rob also carries out bone augmentation techniques and sinus lifts, and accepts implant referrals from other dentists. Using implants with a good evidence base from Straumann and Nobel Biocare, which have long term research behind them gives Rob’s patients confidence. His iInitial basic training for implant treatment was in 1991. Undertaking further advanced restorative and implant courses at the Eastman Dental Institute. He has completed numerous advanced implant courses in the UK and abroad. Rob was also awarded an MSc in Restorative Dental Practice from the University of London; which included original research into peri-implantitis.

He is a mentor with the Association of Dental Implantology, on the editorial board of Implant Dentistry Today, has published several articles and also occasionally lectures nationally and internationally.

Rob is a member of many professional groups which reflect his interests in dentistry, including the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, the International Team for Implantology, the Association of Dental Implantology, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the British Academy for Restorative Dentistry and the British society of Endodontics. He has also been Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary for Alpha Omega International Fraternity UK; a worldwide organisation representing over 15,000 dentists. It is dedicated to the advancement of dental education and research. It encourages excellence and professionalism. It also has a large philanthropic arm supporting dental projects in the U.K. and abroad.

Outside of dentistry Rob has recently taken up cycling. Much like everything he does, Rob is very enthusiastic and is now a dedicated Man In Lycra. Out most Sunday mornings along the roads in the Home Counties he trains for his summer rides. Last year he raised money for Anthony Nolan which helps to enable donor stem cell transplants and the Langdale Foundation which supports young people with learning difficulties to lead independent lives. Rob also enjoys skiing, although after several injuries he has reluctantly slowed his speed down- a little.
